About the Park
Tarangire National Park, often called Tanzania’s “Elephant Paradise,” is famous for its vast herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and unspoiled landscapes. Covering 2,850 square kilometers, it is the sixth-largest park in Tanzania and offers a more intimate safari experience compared to the Serengeti or Ngorongoro.
The Tarangire River, a lifeline during the dry season, attracts thousands of animals, making the park one of the most rewarding wildlife destinations in northern Tanzania.

Bird lovers are drawn to over 500 species, including ostriches, hornbills, and colorful lovebirds, while rare species such as fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk can also be spotted here.

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit is during the dry season from June to October, when wildlife gathers in large numbers along the Tarangire River. November to May is greener and quieter, offering lush scenery, fewer crowds, and excellent birdwatching.
Weather Condition
Tarangire has a warm climate with distinct dry and wet seasons. June–October is hot and dry with clear skies, ideal for spotting animals. November–May brings rains, greener vegetation, and an abundance of migratory birds.
